iPhone signal bar display

Postby MattSPL » Sun Mar 25, 2012 12:29 pm

I came across this useful tip yesterday.
It makes it possible to display your signal strength bars as numbers instead. Much more accurate http://www.simonblog.com/2011/12/01/how ... d-of-bars/

The whole Blog seems very useful, full of tips and tricks about the iPhone.

Cheers

Thanks Matt. Have you done this? From the comments it seems a bit hit and miss and I'm worried about being stuck with something I end up not liking!

Hi Ben

Yes, ive done it.
If you dial the field test mode number, the app will open and you will see the numbers displayed.
If you then close the app, your phone will revert back to how it was with signal bars.

If you want to keep the numbers(but be able to switch between numbers and bars by touching), simply press the power button until the slide to power off appears. Then release the power button and press and hold the home button until the app exits.

If you want to revert to normal bars, dial the field test mode number again, and exit the app by just using the home button as yu would with any app.

Cheers

No worries Ben :)

It worked first time for me twice. I reverted back to normal just to check, then back to the numbers which i'm currently using.

Cheers
