My first active ATC was the pro 20a - awesome.
There was a pair on eBay recently, they were a little beaten but I considered for a nano second before coming to my senses!

Obviously you're a very sensible man! :)
Enjoy.

I'm trying to sort out some problems with the Turkish Customs, my EL 150s are still at the ATC factory awaiting shipment! :(

Finally, the long wait is over and my beloved ATC EL 150s are back in their dedicated listening room.
Unfortunately, no idea how it happened but the right speaker tuning port grill seems to be forced off! I'm hoping to get it put back without major problems.

Otherwise, they are already up and running, and sounding as wonderful as ever, so happy! :)

All ATC drivers beautifully lined up.

Best.

Great system, Mev! Keep enjoying!

How do you use the centre channel? Is that a multichannel receiver/processor on the left? And if you do have a surround system, what speakers do you use for the surround channels?

Edit: The original system in this thread has a projector screen. What about now?
iMac/Bluray/PVR - Marantz SR7008 - 7.1 ATC SCM50SLAT fronts, C1C centre, SCM7 rears, MonitoAudio M3 rear surr, C4 sub
Airplay multiroom (aex to genelec 6010, b&w mm1, avi dm10)

Many thanks AlmaataKZ, I'm enjoying it very much! :)

The monster ATC C6A centre is a major part of the multichannel system. In fact, the multichannel processor/receiver is the Marantz SR7008, the exact model you have. :D
I have a 7.1 setup which comprises of ATC 20A Pros for the surround and some classic old KEF dipoles for the back surround.
And, of course, not forgetting the amazing ATC C6 Sub.

When I moved back to Istanbul from London I had the music/cinema room redecorated when I ended up getting rid of the projector which was getting on a bit. Not decided yet on what to get in its place; whether to continue with the projector route or get a big TV.
I'm using an old 55 inch LG TV for now and will decide later.

Best.

Not bad! My dream system is very much like your real one!

And I am also thinking what would the screen be - a large tv or a projector. I think it will be a tv.

When you were in London, btw, I spent a lot of time in Turkey (2y?). Now you are back there and I am back in London :-)

We lived in Barcelona for a year then moved to London for a couple years from May 2016.
But I lived in the UK before for over 20 years making some games such as Last Ninja 2, First Samurai and Street Racer. :) Then I moved back to Turkey to start the gaming sector at the end of 2000.

Where were you in Turkey and what was the purpose of your stay, work, pleasure or both? :)

Hi All,

A quick update:

Image

My room is around 40 square meters and rectangular shaped. I have my ATCs along the long wall which allows me to keep them well away from the side walls (around 2.5M).
Short wall is about 5M and I have my speakers 1.4M from the front wall.
I'm sitting quite close to the back wall (60cm).

My listening position is just under 3M from the speakers, and they are just over 3M apart.
So, I'm quite close to my speakers, almost midfield listening position (like a big studio).

Because ATCs can play very clean and also loud (I like it loud!) I'm able to listen to music for hours on end, just like the many mastering engineers in many studios around the World.

Yesterday I decided to get even closer to the speakers but leaving them apart as before.
But with a more steep toe-in as can be seen from the attached pic.
I can appreciate the magic dome even more now, I get goosebumps allover especially with well recorded voices; I've been listening to Folk Singer album by Muddy Waters, just amazing! :)
It's like listening to a giant pair fantastic headphones! :D

I thought I'd share it with you so you can experiment too. Especially in rooms with no or little room treatment, with a much closer listening positioning and steeper toe-in you may get better results.
It's worth a try and completely free, I believe speaker placement is very important

Best wishes.
Mev
