Only had time for a quick listen so far other than when they get used for the TV.

Basically they are what I was expecting, great amount of detail, good bass yet much easier to integrate into the room than my last floor standers (Rega R5) without boom and they work remarkably well at low volumes when watching TV at night.

Got loads of time off over December so looking forward to working through my music collection.

I'll have a go at some photos later, really enjoying them now so much to the point that I've almost stopped thinking about them when listening to music. My girlfriend hijacked the HiFi yesterday and spent the day going "Wow" and re-discovering her music collection. Also watched a few films with them, over all I'm enjoying the extra bass and scale they have while at the same time not suffering from too much bass boom that I suffered from with my last floor standers.

Already sold the SCM11s which be in their new home already as they were collected from me this morning :)

Ah I see the traditional 'chopping board' speaker base being used? ;)

Had these as well , but got the small metal wooden floor protectors now, about 2 cm diameter. Looks 'cleaner' without the extra piece of wood i.m.o., otherwise you get a bit too much contrast with the different wood types for floor, board and speaker.

Yeah I've got some floor protectors like that, they are on chopping boards at the moment as it makes it easy to try different toe-in and distance from wall. Once I'm happy I have some granite chopping boards I'll put down and then have the floor protectors on those, I find having the granite boards helps stop the cheap laminate flooring acting like a sounding board.

Getting a few hours on the SCM40s now and even Jacqueline (my girlfriend) is agreeing that they are starting to open up and sound even better, mind you she puts plenty of time on them with TV and her music collection :)

Can't see me myself moving from these speakers for a good while unless the option to go active crops up.

Nice pic :D

It reminds me of lying on my back looking up at the twin towers on a visit to America about 12 years ago
