Picture sizing?

Postby AlmaataKZ » Wed Jun 16, 2010 1:41 pm

Hi,
I am having trouble posting pics. they are abt 500 pixel size on a hosting site. I post using the "img" thing. they come out as a small thumbnail in my posts. Are they auto-reduced or smth?

How do I make sure they are visible at 500 pixels in the post?

I find www.tinypic.com easy to use.
I upload the pic then go to edit and it gives loads of easy to use options for resizing, rotating etc.

MattSPL,
do you mean this to edit pics before uploading? I am ok on that part.
What I mean is: after I have made the picture small (max 500 pixels) I then upload it to flickr. I then make a post here and link tothe pic on flickr via img thing. but they come out on the post here not at 500 pixel but as a small thumb maybe 50 pixels in size. what is happening? How do I get it to show at 500 pixels?

What i mean is, i upload the full size pic to tinypic. Then i go to edit and resize it. This makes another smaller copy on tiny pic that i then use to post on the forum.
I do this as i don't have any means of resizing before i upload.

It sounds like flicker may be resizing the picture for you.
So you have already resized, then flicker resizes again.

I think flickr is OK as I do the same on other forums and it works ok.

Ok. Im not sure what the problem is then, not very well up on computers. Maybe just try upload to flicker without resizing?

i used flickr, but can't remember if i did anything special. i think there is quite a quality hit when flickr resizes though, more then if i'd done it in photoshop, i think.
