External links need target="_blank" attribute

Postby John Leddy » Sat Feb 21, 2015 12:49 am

It's a pain in the neck having to right-click and choose Open Link in New Tab every time I wish to visit an external link suggested by a poster.

I know some webauthors think the correct way to visit another site is to exit the site you're currently visiting first, but this is inappropriate for a forum you may have just logged in to, and the suggested link is really just a diversion from your actual purpose.

Personally, I can't think why a webauthor would provide such a readily available escape from a website at all, but that's just me.

Is it a big deal to automatically include the target="_blank" attribute in external links.

Thanks,

John.

Hello! Anybody there?

Is this a reasonable request?

Thanks,

John.
