Ps Audio Xstream statement Bi-Wire

Postby MattSPL » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:53 pm

For sale are my Ps Audio Xstream Statement Bi-wire speaker cables.

http://www.psaudio.com/ps/products/desc ... t=classics

5 meter pair(Approx 15ft). Excellent condition.
Amazing speaker cables, 1.5inch diameter and very heavy construction. These cables are thicker than the mains feeding your house. Able to give the loudspeaker everything the amp sends down them,
I have the original boxes and interchangeable spade and banana plug ends as seen in the link. RRP was over £2000

Asking £500

Im definitely going active, but i don't know when and what exactly yet.
I plan to buy a CA2 pre amp firstly, and will possibly borrow some active monitors off a friend until i can afford some active atc's.
Or i might end up going for some used cheap active atc's if i see any come up.

If they were 10 x 1m instead of 2 x 5m then I would definitely be interested. But, as it is, sorry! :(

10 x 1meter lengths? How close do you plan on keeping the speakers in relation to the amp's?

As close as possible. I'm trying to get as close to active whilst being passive. Like "powered passives" ;)

So will you be buying 10 mono blocks? Would probably work out cheaper to buy actives in the end.

9, but yes. Not when they are Emotiva and not when I already have all the speakers. It also sounds cool and uses lots of power and has lots of flashy lights...

That makes sense then, but i wouldn't be to concerned with getting the power amp's that close to the speakers. If you use the right gauge cable, you won't notice any difference in performance. Just as long as you don't 10+ meters of speaker cable between amp and speaker.

Active cross-overs aren't the only reason that actives are better. I'm looking to get the shortest possible speaker cable run to the speakers. Maybe even hard-wire the cabling and have a 10cm run.
