French amplifier.

Postby bkelly » Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:29 pm

I run an old version ATC integrated but have the opportunity to acquire a new Sugden A21 for my second system. The Sugden is from France. I'm not the most technical music lover and just wondered if there would be any potential, or actual, problems using this in U.K., with a euro to U.K. adapter plug. The spec is set for 230 v, same as UK I believe.

Personally I would find someone who can wire on a new plug for you and skip the (usually pretty crap) EU to UK adapter. Technically it will work fine.

What speakers are you planning on driving with it?

Thanks for that.I wouldn't trust myself with the plug wiring so would pass that to someone else !! Otherwise you think it should be fine ? Spendor A5r (and possibly Dynaudio Emit 10s in other room) My local hi if dealer didn't see a problem with either. Thanks again for your help.

Does the Sugden have a removable power cable? Most Hifi has an IEC connector on the rear panel where the power cord plugs in. If this is the case, just use a UK power cable to replace the French one.
