Thanks Dogill ;)

MC may well have reviewed the latest model but the pics used in his review 100% show a SEAS tweeter!!!!

I guess that's where the mistake really was. :o

There's a pro guy called Streaky on youtube who does video reviews.

Oct 2017 he reviewed the Kii Three and he gushed about them the whole review, not a bad word to say.

June 2018 he heard ATCs for the first time (SCM150) ... Wants to keep them!

Dogill, he loves the 8C for sure. If you read the comments you'll see he rates them about the same as the Kiis for SQ, also he writes "I still can't get the ATC mid range out of my head"!

I was lucky enough to hear both the Kiis and the 8Cs side by side in London last year.

They are both great speakers for their size but I certainly preferred the 8Cs as they sounded bigger with better soundstage and musicality. The 8Cs are slightly bigger in size and volume so that must help.

I agree that neither can match the ATC' magical mid dome! :)

Another fantastic review of ATC SCM50As.
This has to be one of the best reviews, and also the most accurate descriptions of the ATC drivers and sound! :)

Well done ATC, and well done Neil Gader for a great review.

Best.

That’s a great review, and I couldn’t agree more. (But then I do have a pair of ATC SCM50ASLTs myself, with the anniversary amp packs moreover, so I just might be biased.) If you want to listen to music, these speakers deliver.

Thanks for the link MevDinc

Great review which does describe the higher end active ATC sound quite well.........

But once again.......WRONG pic showing older model with SEAS tweeters.

The April addition of Hi Fi News and Reviews covers the active SCM 100SE.

It’s pretty favourable but has a final comment about them being too revealing of poor recordings. I always find that gets mentioned, a little annoying over the years!

I agree, I always hated that poor comment; "too revealing of poor recordings".
Sure, that's what good speakers/monitors should supposed to do.

I only listen to well recorded music with my ATCs.:)

This has to be one of the best compliments made by anyone about the ATC speakers! :)
And I agree with every word, of course! :D

Monitors (As in Speakers)

Well I’m going to tell you about what kind of speakers I know and love. Truth of it is the ATC Loudspeaker Technology Ltd are the greatest speakers I’ve ever owned or even heard. It’s better than the best tuned Function One System at a festival you’ve ever heard in your life with the fidelity and punch of the best Atmos/THX system you’ve ever heard, on steroids.

Friends (producers, composers and musicians) have listened to music they’ve worked on or we’ve made together in this room and have all said universally they’ve never heard anything like it in their life.

Not to mention Wes Lachot’s design of this room is extraordinary. This space is a one of a kind room. I’ve been in impressive synth rooms and great mix rooms. This is the best version of both of those combined I’ve ever seen in my life. Mind you 4 solid years of blood, sweat and tears!"

What's it got to with ATC that some recordings are poor. And if ATC 's were not revealing of high quality recordings then they'd also get criticised :D Its almost a no win situation
