Thank you, they had an expensive premium room this year ! I was there , they played vinyl in a partnership with Ortofon using Einstein monoblocks and like last year , piano black 50SEs

I heard the sound was not good, it was even referred to as terrifying.

No it was fine, I didn't listen much as I'm familiar with the SE having one at home myself :)

Been looking for many years but never seen or heard of a demo of the 300s or even the 200s.

Yes the turntable used the ATC SPA preamp and the digital files used the CDA2Mk2; and it was 100SE's in piano black (it was easy to think they were 50s as the room dimensions were so large it made everything look quite small).

Sound was very good at times, especially on the turntable! I didn't know the records the Ortofon guy played but they were impressive. AS usual, the demo "quality" varies with your opinion of the source material. People really crowded in for Stevie Ray Vaughn (digital file) live recording of Tin Pan Alley. The guitar sounded positively real, it was easy to forget the speakers were there. SO did the hi rez file of Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Gold Dust Woman. Wow, you could hear the studio itself.....and for traditional fans they played a DSD Michael Bishop gave us of National Brass Ensemble "Music for Brass". That was popular too.
