Hi Matt

He certainly did like curved SCM40A monitors :) I've known NAC-N 272/SCM40A is a great combination for almost a year now 8-) The icing on the cake comes in the form of a using NAC-N 272/SCM40A with JL Audio sub/s  Then you have the wow factor :D

All the best

I've got a pair of SCM40 Mk2's and am in the process of combining them with a DEQX pre/dac/speaker/room correction unit. It's a pretty steep learning curve with the DEQX but so far the integration between the sub and mains is pretty good. I think the US distributor for ATC in the US also does DEQX and JL and ran this combo at a show in 2015.

That Deqx looks impressive, I haven't heard of it before.
So you think it adds to the performance of your system without any negatives?

It's early days yet. I've gone from a valve pre to the DEQX and do think that I've lost some of that valvey sound I quite like. I've heard some terrific systems using DEQX. DEQX is more aimed at fully active systems with up to three way configurations. It's possible to remove passive crossovers and do it all actively as long as you have enough channels of power. My unit is a Premate which is more for two way or full range and sub which is how I use it. It's a massively steep learning curve but hopefully worth it.
