Interesting that HiFiChoice found the "clarity" of the PMCs a bit fatiguing in the end preferring the ATC 19.

And I also find that the German reviewers like the ATC sound but never quite give it the top marks for some reason.
Would you agree Doggil?

BTW, what's the latest on your Kii Threee evaluation?

I tend to read forum reviews and opinions of other enthusiasts rather than commercial reviews from magazines these days.

ATC SCM 19A receives Golden Ear Award from Neil Gader of The Absolute Sound, well done and well deserved! :)

Very good review of 50 passives in the latest edition of Hifi Critic ( Martin Colloms ) - Audio Excellence award.

Thanks for sharing. Will read it later on with a cup of coffee! :)

BTW, have you had a chance to try out the Kii Threes?

FYI, I did listen to both the Kiis and the Dutch & Dutch 8Cs at the same time, both excellent speakers; sound of things to come for sure. I thought with bigger cabinet and baffle the 8Cs sounded a bit bigger and meatier and also seem to provide a bigger sound stage.

I think the 8Cs sounded more like the ATCs :)
I'm keeping my beloved EL 150As and again the wonderful people of ATC are helping me with the shipment back to Istanbul. Can't wait to put them back in my treated music room! :)))

Best.

I'm also keeping the 100SEs :D
I still haven't tried the Kiis and 8Cs - did you directly compare them to the dealer's ATC50 s ?

Good to hear you're keeping the 100SEs Hans, good move! :)

TBH, there was no point in comparing them to the 50s as it would have been too difficult to setup the 50s properly there, already too crowded with the other 2 speakers.
I know the ATC sound so well and it's very easy for me to hear the difference.

The Kiis are great but almost too clinical and the sound stage is not big enough for my liking.
The 8Cs are bigger and sound bigger too, similar to the ATC sound.

I'd definitely buy the 8Cs for a smallish room.
But I'm more than happy with the sound of my EL 150s, and in a properly setup room they are very hard to beat.
