What is the latest news regarding production units, the last I heard was that it was in the testing phase ?

That's the last i heard too. I think the testing can be a lengthy process.

Hi Rick

That looks like a really nice drive unit :D
Do you know what the specifications are, like frequency response? Or even the crossover frequency from mid/bass to tweeter in the new 7's and 11's?

Sorry about all the questions :)

Cheers

Hi Matt

The SH25-76 looks great and even more so fitted in ATC's monitors. the SH25-76 is a thing of beauty :)

I'll have a look at the manual for the specifications.

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is a plan for new SCM50 or SCM100 with the new HF driver. I'm considering to buy new speaker but not sure if this is good time to buy.

I know ATC is offering an upgrade from VIFA tweeter to SEAS tweeter. I guess there will be similar upgrade to the new HF tweeter, too?

Thanks,

As far as i know, ATC are in the process of making a new tweeter for the 50 and up. They already have a new larger tweeter for the 200 and 300 and the new entry series tweeter, so hopefully we will see the new 50 and up tweeter soon :)

SH34-76 and flanged surround fitted to PA65 (same as SCM150A

Postby studioman » Tue Sep 08, 2015 8:24 pm

I have a pair of PA65 active speakers, similar to the SCM150ASL, as it has exactly the same bass driver and mid, and originally had the same Vifa or SEAS tweeter swell as the same amp pack. Ben has already advised me that they are EXACTLY the same units. I bought them used, and they had been maintained by ATC over the years, including an upgrade from the Vifa or SEAS to the new ATC tweeter. However, the engineers had at some point removed the original tweeters and fitted the ATC SH34-76 tweeters with a flanged surround to these speakers. This is where my query lies. Would this have been because they wanted to update them as soon as the 34mm unit was available? (I think the 34mm unit preceded the 25mm unit by a few years) Only I thought from what had been written on this forum that the new 34mm unit was ONLY being fitted to 200 and 300s, NOT the 150, which would be having the 25mm unit fitted. And then there is the SH25-76S....where does this lie in the scheme of things? And I wonder which is the better one in the virtually identical SCM150ASL & PA65 anyway. Without a direct comparison of the different tweeters, which I am not able to arrange, do I just need to accept that they sound wonderful anyway? I'm just wondering if there is more to be squeezed out of them. Any thoughts?
They say if you can remember the 60's, you weren't really there. Now somehow I have reached 62...oh shit, it's 63 now....How and when did THAT happen?....there's a lesson there somewhere if only I could figure it out...
