Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Speakers balance on them, they are placed on the metal stands under the speakers, iron stands (35 kg) with leather skin added recently. Pics will follow. My ATCs sound just incredible, like a totally new stuff.
Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Actually, I also kept spikes, but just for security reasons, they are in place and add stability but do not hold the speakers
Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Ok thanks, I look forward to seeing the pictures.
Cheers

Great!!!!
Based on our experiences.......... and presumably some of the other posters on this Thread..........
Plus the fact that ATC themselves recommend certain Model specific "acoustic centre" listening heights.............
I can't help wondering how many ATC users out there may have still yet to hear their pride and joys.......... "PROPERLY"!!!!!
Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Actually the idea was to place them exactly as per ATC recommendations - where the acoustic centre is at approx 100 cm of height, listening distance 3 m.
If we apply the height of the of midrange speaker minus 5 degrees then it is correct as per listening position.

Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Hi guys,
problems follow any improvement as always.
Yesterday I noticed a dent (hole) on one of my SCM50 Bass speaker dustcaps. I guess someone who was helping me to place the speakers on the stands did it.
So tried to move it back with a tape, it worked but not perfect, then tried to fix it with vacuum cleaner - even worse...
Any ideas on how to bring it back to its original condition, or the only solution is to leave it alone, and then replace one day?
No problem with sound quality although, I can post few pics if it can help.
Thanks

Re: ATC SCM20ASL WALL MOUNT (VAN HELLEN)
Hi,
I had similar problems when my daughter used to poke the ever so tempting dome on my ATC 20As!
The best and safest way was to use sticky tape like you did in the first place. I found that overtime it restored itself to its original state.
Play some bass heavy music at reasonable volumes and all that cone movement should help it!
I'd definitely avoid using anything other than tape!
Post some pics so we could see how bad it is.
Good luck.

That doesn't look too bad.

You think so?
I've seen a lot worse. The dust cap seems to have returned to its original shape, even if it does have creases.

Actually, the question is - how to get rid of these creases? Any idea? Or just wait and see?

I am running Isotek System enhancer and rejuvenation disk now, hoping it will do something...
