ATC ATMOS for MUSIC rig at Blackbird Nashville

Postby Brad Lunde » Tue Jul 23, 2019 8:29 pm

HI guys
I just returned from Nashville where we took part in supplying and set up of one of the first ATC ATMOS for Music rigs in a recording studio. Take a look. This had a lot of participation with Dolby, they participated in calibration and set up and brought multiple mixes for us all to hear.
Image

The system is:
3 SCM 300ASL
12 SCM 100ASL
6 ATC SCM 1-15 ASL subs (C6)

The photos does not quite catch the 2 100s on the floor closest to the photographer, so those appear to be missing (but aren't)
This is the George Massenburg Room built at Blackbird Studios in Nashville and number of years ago and the "grand opening" or open house was this past weekend in conjunction with NAMM. We'll have hi rez photos on our transaudiogroup site soon.

I saw this on Facebook, it looks amazing and I’m sure it sounds out of this world

Don't know if anyone was at NAMM, we demoed a complete ATC ATMOS 7.1.4 rig playing the Beatles Blu Ray we got from Giles Martin. It was LCR 110, custom subs life the ones at Sterling Mastering, 2 pr 25s on the floor, 2 pr of 12's up high. Sounded magnificent!

Brad

Looked very impressive 8-) Well done :)

I think the set up was on Facebook too, I spent some time drooling over the photos lol.

Brad, anything like this on display in the U.K. to your knowledge? At the upcoming Bristol hi fi show next month I presume ATC will feature the new amp and cd, at a guess rather than a fully fledged surround set up?

Many years ago, when the Concept systems came out, I got a chance to hear the C6 set up.

I don't think there is anything like this outside Abbey Road with an even bigger ATMOS rig. If you guys ask for it, its the only way it will happen.

Thanks Brad. I am likely at the factory in a couple of weeks as an item is being serviced...I’ll ask when there!
