New AV Receiver Installed!!

Postby emgee » Fri Nov 28, 2014 6:03 pm

Well, new Anthem mrx510 purchased from our good host Rick, and was plugged in by me, sound? Okay, couldn't really tell the difference between it and a £500 receiver tbh. Then Rick and Kingabs arrived this evening to do the full install. Well, what a bloomin difference that has made! Forget Audyssey room correction, this Anthem stuff is the BOMB! Details retrieval, clear defined effects, loud and I mean LOUD with no distortion and tight snappy bass, without the whoomp whoomp nastiness. Even the better half has noticed an amazing difference. Just run through a few scenes from Edge of Tomorrow, and the scene where Tom Cruise and his troops enter Paris, well, every nuance can be heard, the splashing of the water seems like it's in the room!

Maybe I'm being a little bit excited here but it really is a top bit of kit this Anthem stuff, worth the premium price :D 8-)
Thanks Rick and Kingabs :)

:D I bet it can.
Have you gone for any room treatment? I'm seriously wanting to make a couple of panels for behind my speakers as they are in the alcoves either side of the fireplace, so give bass issues when turned up.

Cheers
